Official Click! 2013 rules
1. Photos eligible for the contest must be shot between Jan. 1 - Dec. 31, 2013.

2. You may enter a maximum of four (4) photos.

3. The deadline to submit entries is 5 p.m. January 14, 2014. All entries must be made online, through this contest.

4. You must fill out all required information in the registration and submission areas of this contest to be eligible.

5. Birth dates are required to verify the photographers entering the K-5 and 6-12th grade categories are eligible for those categories. The Tribune reserves the right to delete entries and/or name alternate winners if entries in these or any other categories are found to be forged or participant information is in any way falsified.

6. The Tribune has first publication rights of photographs submitted for consideration in Click! 2013. The Tribune holds the copyright to post the photos on our website and sell reprints to the public or for advertising purposes. Reprints must not be used for commercial purposes.

Photo files types and sizes
» PHOTO SIZE: Please submit JPEG photos that are at least 200 d.p.i. resolution. The file size should be between 3mb and 6mb. This is usually a photo that is around 8 inches wide if it is horizontal, or 8 inches tall if it is vertical.

» Shoot JPEG photos at your camera's highest or second highest quality setting. This will help us create large prints if your photo is chosen as a winner to be included in our 2014 calendar.

» Most digital cameras allow you to set the resolution at a lower setting, with a smaller file size, to allow for easier transmission via e-mail or Internet. The lower resolution images look great on a computer screen, however they are not sufficient for printing purposes and therefore will not work for this contest.

» Photos must be submitted as JPEG images. Other formats, such as RAW, NEF, etc., will not be accepted.

Additional Click! rules and information
» There are many effects and manipulations that can be done with digital photography after a photo is taken. To maintain the integrity and spirit of this photo event, we have a few guidelines we ask participants to follow. If you have questions about these guidelines, please e-mail Tribune photo chief Jim Rydbom:

No digital manipulation of photographs is allowed. Items can not be added or taken away in Photoshop or other editing programs to enhance the photograph. Cropping is allowed, but make sure if your image is cropped that it still meets the size requirements ( 200 DPI, 3-6 mb). Do not enhance the colors in the photos. Our photo technicians will determine the correct color balance when printing.

Photos must be of people, places or things in Weld County.

Each participant is allowed up to five photo submissions in the Click! contest. These can be in different categories of the contest or all in the same category. Please do not enter the same photo multiple times. This practice will be subject to review and possible photo disqualification.

You must have permission from any persons in any photo you submit in the contest. They must consent to being used in your contest photo. Any repercussions or monetary damages resulting from failure to adhere to this requirement will be the sole responsibility of the contest participant who submitted the photo for the contest.
